Graphic design for Emory University's flagship arts & performance event

Project brief

For three and a half years at Emory University I was the head of design and marketing for The Pulse, our literature and arts organization. Every semester we hosted an event called Symposium which showcased our university's best artistic talent. I was in charge of creating the designs for (almost) every event.

What's this?

The Pulse is Emory University's premier literature and arts organization. This community was formative to my college experience and I had the pleasure of being surrounded by incredibly diverse and talented artists who made Emory feel alive.

Every semester, we hosted an event called Symposium which brought together the best artists and performers from around campus all for one night. It started as a small jazz-club type environment to a 200-person concert hosted outside.

Check out The Pulse's Instagram here.

Below are my most recent pieces of graphic design for Symposium 8, 7, 6, and 5.

Symposium 8

Symposium 8 was our first event that was truly themed. I was obsessed with Vaporwave at the time and decided the entire thing should be pink, purple, and 80s themed.

We printed these out as temporary tattoos at the event.

And we used this on shirts.
